I absolutely loved my time in Granada, Spain this past fall. Granada is a beautiful, quaint city along the south east coast with some of the warmest people I have ever met. Living there for the semester gave me a true taste of the layed-back Andalucian culture and a better appreciation for the immense history behind the city. The program itself was very rewarding as well. Living with a host mom and taking all my classes in Spanish helped me polish my skills, gaining fluidity in both formal and coloquial Spanish. Amalia and Teresa, the two directors for the program, made sure that every one of us was making the most of our experiences in Spain and were always there for us whenever we need help. My only complaint is that I couldn't stay longer!

GRIIS played a major role in my time abroad. The opportunities presented to me through GRISS were what really helped me and guided me to a deeper understanding of Spain as well as a deeper understanding of myself. This program offers us a wide range of classes, an amazing host family, volunteering opportunities, trips and visits within the city and throughout the country. But what this program has that sets it apart from the rest is its directors' passion and compassion for teaching and for their students. They offer a very comfortable space in a strange place and get to know each one of us so that we can have the experience we want, and in my case, the experience I needed.
